The courage, resilience and grace demonstrated by cancer patients everyday in the face of adversity wrought by this disease continues to be humbling and Dr. Chen considers it a privilege to be involved in the care of her patients. She understands how overwhelming it can be for patients at times to navigate the intricacies of complex treatment options while dealing with the physical and emotional turmoil of cancer. She advocates for her patients, to empower them with the knowledge they need to make their decisions and supports them through their treatments so they can return to what really matters in their lives.
Research Interests
Prior to entering medicine, Dr. Chen had over a decade of experience in biomedical engineering. She worked in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and physicians to develop an image guidance system in neurosurgery. Through medical school and residency, she continued to work on research projects that advance oncologic care through precision technology. This experience has uniquely positioned her work in the field that is at the nexus of the healing art of medicine and advanced technology.
